alive and well in october

Tonight, we write from our own laptop. This has come such a long way, since the last rant about clickety keys. Delhi is stepping into winter, and October has come to a close over the many, many domes towering its skyline. I realize that I have made peace with being away. So much has changed, we're free to step out when we please, lore in the friend circle, and F has gotten his own place. Sort of. Remember when I said it will be a while before I write about people here fondly? I think we're there. It's a strange comfort, living with those displaced like you. They've taken care of me blacked out in the middle of the night and brought me dinner in bed. On the morning I turned nineteen, I took a flight back, sobbing over the cold chicken and rice she had packed for me. Domino said that's what growing up is. They got me cake and sat with me through two cigarettes, and I think that is the crux of life here.
